Quinta da Bichinha Wedding, Portugal
Having a Quinta da Bichinha wedding in Portugal was a stroke of brilliance for Lan and Donel.
Situated on a gorgeous lake and set among a million acres of prestigious vineyard, the venue is simply breathtaking. During their celebration, bougainvillea cascaded over whitewashed buildings and lush gardens were in full bloom. Having beautifully orchestrated the events of their multi-cultural wedding, the transitions were seamless and the decor perfectly complemented with the architecture and surroundings.

The weekend began with a sacred Vietnamese tea ceremony to honor the bride’s parents and ancestors. Lan and Donel donned colorful attire to show their love and respect. Lan wore red, known in Vietnamese society for its ability to bring happiness and good luck. Donel, who is Irish, wore a blue 'ao dai' that is associated with hope and a feeling of peaceful calmness.
The welcome table was set with centerpieces of bright red flowers and favors, while the blue and red accents on the building made it look like the couple had them painted to match their decor.
In the morning Lan and Donel began their preparation for their outdoor ceremony and sweet first look. As the staff put the finishing touches on the decorations, guests dove into the lake and enjoyed each other's company.

As the ceremony began, Lan walked down the aisle with her father, looking radiant in her strapless gown and carrying a colorful bouquet. Donel, wearing a light blue suit and a wide smile, took her hand from her dad under a fragrant rose arbor. Their vows brought both them and their guests to laughter and tears, and when they were said, the joy was evident.

Continuing to the reception on the stone terrace, friends and family mingled, toasted the couple, and we’re treated to upbeat live music. The reception space felt warm and welcoming under the canopy of string lights, and as the night went on the connections deepened and the conversations got more fun and playful. Donel’s friends introduced Irish games to the dinner party and the couple danced under the spotlights above the LED dance floor and beckoned friends to join in.
With leading documentary wedding photographer Pedro Filipe by their side, the couple’s story was told authentically and frame by frame without unnecessary posing.

While every Quinta da Bichinha wedding is special in its own way, Lan and Donal’s stood out for its laughter, high energy, and love for culture and family.
