Morning Preparations at Kilshane House

The day began quietly at Kilshane House, where both the bride and groom prepared on-site. The atmosphere was calm, with soft natural light and a gentle anticipation building as the morning unfolded.
Aoibhlinn’s look was timeless and elegant. She wore a gown by Suzanne Neville from Kadee Bridal, paired with classic ivory shoes from Asos. Her bridal style felt refined yet effortless, perfectly suited to the setting. Hair by Val O’Dea and makeup by Sarah Dineen Bridal enhanced her natural beauty in a soft, understated way.
Details were meaningful without feeling overdone. A delicate invitation suite, soft florals by Karen O’Mahony of Flowers by Karen, and a beautifully crafted cake made by the groom’s mother added a personal layer to the day.

A Traditional Irish Church Ceremony in Bansha

The ceremony took place at the Church of the Annunciation in Bansha, Co. Tipperary, a lovely and intimate setting for a traditional Catholic wedding.

Aoibhlinn’s uncle, Fr. Éamonn Fitzgibbon, officiated the Mass, bringing warmth and familiarity to the experience. The ceremony was elevated by live music from the bride’s friends from the choir, whose voices filled the church in a way that clearly touched the hearts of the guests and the couple.

There was also a quiet awareness throughout the day of the bride’s father, who had passed away. His absence was felt and his presence seemed woven into the atmosphere.

A Classic Irish Tradition: A Pint at Nellie’s Bar

Following the ceremony, the couple embraced a beloved Irish tradition.
Before returning to Kilshane House, they stopped with guests at Nellie’s bar across the road for a quick pint. It created a fun and joyful transition between ceremony and reception, allowing everyone to connect and celebrate in an informal way before the evening continued.

Portrait Session After the Ceremony

Aoibhlinn and Kevin chose not to do a first look, keeping the tradition of seeing each other for the first time until the ceremony.

Starting portraits after returning to Kilshane House and spending time together, they took some space to fully experience the emotion of their marriage before stepping away.

With an incredible range of backdrops, the couple and their photographer, Sarah Kate Murphy, made the most of it. From the bridge over the lake to the surrounding gardens and the lovely interiors of the location, every setting helped add a different dimension, whilst the soft Irish light and rich greenery enhanced the romantic, natural feel felt throughout.

One of the stylish elements in their portraits involved a vintage car from Pristine Classics Occasions, a classic touch that added to the look.

Drinks Reception and Music

While the couple had a romantic time-out and a fun session with Sarah Kate, their guests enjoyed a relaxed, cocktail reception featuring the sounds of Nova String Quartet.
The atmosphere there was warm and welcoming, with guests mingling throughout the estate and getting to know more about each other. The day flowed gracefully from start to finsih, allowing everyone to feel present without any sense of being rushed.

A Reception Filled with Personal Touches

The reception design was timeless and elegantly understated, and began with toasts from the couple and family members in front of Kilshane House. Cheers! was heard from many voices as wishes for the couple came flooding in.

A beautifully detailed buttercream cake, made by the groom’s mother, was a delicious, sentimental addition to the menu and a champagne tower became a focal point for photos.

Candlelight added warmth to the room, while florals remained lovely and not overdone. Everything felt cohesive and each detail worked together to create a refined and inviting space.

Bright Lights to End the Night

After a perfect day, it only seemed fitting that Aoibhlinn and Kevin would leave under the light of sparklers with friends cheering them on and Sarah Kate Murphy bringing her collection together with upbeat, beautiful photos of their exit.

A Photographer’s Perspective

Sarah Kate approached this wedding with a sensitivity to both the visible and the emotional layers of the day.
There was a deep awareness of the significance of the bride’s father’s absence, and that awareness shaped how she documented with a quiet reverance and calming presence.
The lovely weather, soft light, and relaxed unfolding of events made everything feel aligned. The photographs reflect genuine joy, connection, and a quiet sense of grace throughout.
