Mt. Baker Elopement at Artist Point
With headquarters based in Seattle and a love for the great outdoors, we can tell you that planning a Mt. Baker elopement at Artist Point is an epic choice for adventurous couples. With postcard-pretty Mt. Shuksan on one side of this Washington State national park and the imposing Mt. Baker on the other side, you can expect jaw-dropping views and photos you will be proud to share, (provided you hire the right wedding photographer). Case in point, the adventure wedding of Sarah and Etienne, photographed by leading NW elopement photographer, Marla Manes of Marla Manes Photo.
The couple, who wanted to include their closest loved ones in their celebration, chose Steiner Haus, a four-bedroom Mt. Baker getaway with a large kitchen and dining room as their home base so they could be close to the park entrance for their ceremony, and ready to host an intimate dinner reception that night.

The day started with friends and family helping the couple prepare for their photo session and ceremony. When they were ready, Marla took them to some of her favorite places; Heather Meadows, Huntoon Point and Artist Point. The fall season was ideal for capturing the colors of the leaves on the golden larches. and the setting beautifully complemented the bride’s red tresses and the couple’s attire. As you can see the scenery for this fall photo shoot was otherworldly in a way only a Mt. Baker elopement can be.

Ettiene and Sarah’s ceremony took place at Artist Point in a quiet, natural setting surrounded by weeping willows and fall trees. The couple wrote their own vows and loved ones chose reading and wishes to share. The bride's beautiful bouquet of fall colored dahlias, calla lilies, and ranunculus stood out against the background and added a bright pop of color to the photos. And because it was a family affair their two sweet King Charles Cavaliers pups were on board to add to the sweetness.

Gathering after their vows at Stein Haus, family and friends were treated to a sumptuous dinner designed by the private chef from Miere Catering, a company well known for its creative elopement menus. Everything was local, fresh and delicious.

The evening was warm with heartfelt toasts, moments of remembering, and imagining the future. After the sun went down, Etienne shared dessert and exhanged promises under the stars with candlelight. The moment was a beautiful send off that provided a wonderful way for Marla to put the finishing touch on the couple's collection of epic photographs.
