Sicily is a rich tapestry of history, culture, stunning landscapes, and mouthwatering cuisine. It’s also one of the most romantic places in the world to get married, which is why couple Viktorija and Antonin fell in love with it for their wedding location. Choosing the popular Baglio Aversa, an elegantly rustic venue that fit their style to a T, they tied the knot against the backdrop of the Southern Sicily countryside. With photographer Jurgita Lukos there to capture all the magic it was a relaxed and intimate wedding day with tons of gorgeous photography.

 

Viktoria and Antonin first met at a local bar while visiting Luxembourg and started dating soon after. When it came time for wedding planning, Victoria explained that “Antonin is from France and I am from Lithuania, so we wanted a central place that we both would love. Sicily is a magical island that still keeps its old culture and spirit intact so it was perfect for us.” And they both agreed on Baglio Aversa because of its amazing food, sunny weather and picturesque surroundings.  

The bride selected flowers of the blues and yellows often seen in Sicilian architecture and design, and chose a classic Fiat 500 for their portrait session. For her dress, Jurgita tell us “Viktoria had a penchant for dots, and selected a dress, shoes, and a clutch all adorned with a charming pattern.” The groom wore a soft blue linen suit with a double breasted vest and floral bow tie.

 

 

As the photographer for this Baglio Aversa wedding, Jurgita searched online for photoshoot locations. On the day before the wedding, she met with Viktoria and Antonin to get to know them and share ideas, then she visited the locations in person. This approach allowed her to anticipate the lighting, visualize the backgrounds, and exceed the couple’s expectations.

As for weddings in general, Jurgita’s approach blends photojournalistic honesty with the elegance of an editorial. “I follow the timeline, work with the planner and the wedding team, and strive to capture the real moments and every important detail.”
