Grace & Jordan’s Joyful Brighton Town Hall Wedding

Focused on effortless entertaining and heartfelt celebration, Grace and Jordan’s Brighton Town Hall wedding was a perfect reflection of the couple themselves, relaxed, stylish, and full of fun. Photographed by Bristol wedding photographer Oliver Holder (@oliverholderphotography), this intimate day flowed from a heartfelt civil ceremony at Brighton Town Hall to a lively reception at Fabrica Brighton, a unique art space housed in a deconsecrated church in the heart of The Lanes.

Though the couple chose a low-key aesthetic, their wedding was filled with joy, great food, music and laughter.  From the emotional speeches and tear-filled vows to the champagne-fueled dance floor, every moment felt personal and genuine.

A Modern Love Story in Brighton

Grace and Jordan’s day began at home with friends helping Grace get ready and soon moved to Brighton Town Hall, an architectural gem filled with light and history. The couple exchanged vows in a civil ceremony surrounded by family and friends in the Council Chamber, a stately room lined with wood paneling and heritage details. As they sealed their marriage with a kiss, the room erupted in applause, marking the start of a celebration that felt warm and welcoming.

The Ceremony: Simple, Heartfelt, and Full of Emotion

The ceremony was quintessentially Brighton, intimate, sincere, and filled with laughter. Grace wore a modern tea-length dress with floral lace detailing and a soft tulle veil, while Jordan looked dapper in a dark blue suit paired with a copper-toned tie and pocket square that added personality.

As the couple exchanged vows, the light poured through the Town Hall windows, illuminating the scene. The moment they were pronounced married was one of the day’s most unforgettable moments with the crowd cheering as confetti fluttered through the air, perfectly captured in Oliver’s striking photographs.

From City Hall to Church: A Reception at Fabrica Brighton

The celebration continued at Fabrica Brighton (@fabrica_weddings), a one-of-a-kind venue set within a converted Regency church. Its soaring ceilings, columns, and contemporary art installations offered a dramatic yet welcoming backdrop for the evening festivities.

The space was decorated with understated floral arrangements by The Brighton Flower Company (@thebrightonflowerco), featuring deep jewel tones of purple, red, and magenta — a rich contrast to the historic stone walls and soft lighting. Tables were set with simple linens and mismatched vintage glassware, giving the reception a relaxed, communal feel.

Dinner, catered by Halisco Brighton (@haliscobrighton), was a feast of bold flavors and local favorites. Guests gathered around long tables to enjoy hearty dishes, and heartfelt toasts, with Grace’s emotional speech moving everyone to tears.

The Cake and the Champagne Moment

One of the evening’s most memorable scenes came when Grace and Jordan cut their wedding cake — a whimsical design covered in pressed edible flowers. Rather than using a traditional knife, they sliced through it with a dramatic oversized sword, a playful nod that had everyone cheering.

Later, when one of the groomsmen grabbed a magnum of champagne and hit the dance floor, the energy in the room shifted from elegant dinner to all-out party. The lighting, handled by Fabrica’s in-house team, transformed the venue into a dance floor pulsing with color and movement — a perfect setting for Oliver to capture the couple and their guests letting loose.

Oliver’s Approach: Authentic and Unscripted

As with all his weddings, Oliver Holder Photography approached Grace and Jordan’s day with his signature blend of authenticity and artistry. “I approach every wedding in a natural and honest way,” he explains. “It’s all about documenting the real moments and emotions, not forcing them.”

By spreading out portraits throughout the day to make the most of the winter light, Oliver ensured that each image felt spontaneous yet beautifully composed. From the quiet moments between the couple during the ceremony to the wild dancing later on, every photo tells a piece of their story, one that feels uniquely their own.
